Statements of Model Practices are summary descriptions of the desired results for each LCFF priority and the types of practices and actions that produce those results. Initial draft language for the Statements of Model Practices was presented to the SBE in a June 2016 Memo. The draft language was intended as a starting point for soliciting input from stakeholders on the development of the Statements of Model Practices and links to external resources.
The Statements of Model Practices are intended to support LEAs and their stakeholders as they diagnose their strengths and weaknesses by helping to identify strategies and practices to support improved performance. They include descriptions of research-supported and evidence-based practices to support users in reflecting on local actions about the continuous improvement work they are undertaking to improve student outcomes through the development, implementation, and evaluation/updating of their LCAP.
Currently, a multi-faceted outreach process is underway to engage stakeholders in further development and use of the Statements of Model Practices. Please read the latest California State Board of Education Memorandum about the Statements of Model Practice for more information.
The CDE would like to acknowledge the contributions of WestEd on the initial draft of the statements of model practices.
